Curriculum

The Postgraduate Program “Creative and Adapted Physical Education” is structured into three (3) academic semesters.

The total number of Credit Units (ECTS) required for the acquisition of the Master’s degree is 90 ECTS.

To obtain the Master’s degree, mandatory attendance and successful examination in all courses are required, along with the successful evaluation of the Master’s Thesis (MT) and the Practical Training (PT), as distributed across the study semesters per specialization. The offered courses are categorized into Core Courses (CC), Specialization Courses (SC), and Elective Courses (EC).

During their studies, students are required to attend three (3) Core Courses (CC) in the first semester of their studies, depending on the specialty they are pursuing:

a. Specialization “Creative Physical Education”:  Students are required to attend three (3) specialization courses (SC) in the second semester, while in the third semester of their studies, they must attend one (1) specialization course (SC) and choose to either complete a Master’s Thesis (M.T.) or attend two (2) elective courses (EC).

b. Specialization “Adapted Physical Education”: Students are required to attend two (2) specialization courses (SC) and complete Internship I* in the second semester. In the third semester of their studies, students must complete Internship II* and choose either to complete a Master’s Thesis (M.T.) or attend two (2) elective courses (EC).

The INTERSHIP is carried out in School Units and Structures, according to the relevant regulations, such as in Adapted Education and Training Units (S.E.T.U.) and/or in School Units of General and Vocational Education, where students with disabilities and/or special educational needs attend, in Educational and Counseling Support Centers (E.C.S.C.), in Medical-Pedagogical Centers of the Ministry of Health Services, in Counseling Stations of Municipalities, etc.

The language of instruction for the courses and written exams is Greek, while the completion of the dissertation can be in either Greek or English. Additionally, some of the courses or lectures could be provided in the English language, should the Program Administration make that decision. The master’s thesis is written in either Greek or English and includes an abstract in an official language of the European Union.
The courses, teaching hours, and academic credit units per course and overall, of the semester are distributed over three semesters as follows:
